Atelier Mourão
A Escola Atelier Mourão foi fundada em 1981,na cidade do Rio de Janeiro por Caio Mourão, artista multidisciplinar, pioneiro no Brasil em fazer e pensar a joalheria como expressão artística. Desenvolve uma metodologia própria que visa ensinar a joalheria de uma forma a levar o aluno a pensar e trabalhar sua criatividade junto com a técnica. Osmeios são dados, mas são os alunos que escolhem o próprio caminho. Hoje é dirigida por Paula e Livia Mourão, filhas de Caio,tem como objetivo incentivar aos alunos conhecerem todas as maneiras de se trabalhar a joalheria, e oferecer também, além do ensino da técnica, diversos Workshops, palestras e grupos de estudos afim de iniciar uma construção do pensamento da joalheria contemporânea.
A Escola também promove concursos , exposições e a participação de seus alunos em exposições no Brasil e no exterior como a I Bienal de Joalharia Contemporânea de Lisboa em 2021.
The Atelier Mourão School was founded in 1981, in the city of Rio de Janeiro by Caio Mourão, multidisciplinary artist, pioneer in Brazil in making and thinking about jewelry as an artistic expression. It develops its own methodology that aims to teach jewelry in a way to lead the student to think and work their creativity along with the technique. The means are given, but it is the students who choose their own path.Today it is directed by Paula and Livia Mourão, daughters of Caio, aims to encourage students to know all the ways of working jewelry, and also offer, in addition to the teaching of the technique, several workshops, lectures and study groups in order to start a construction of the thought of contemporary jewelry.
The School also promotes competitions, exhibitions and the participation of its students in exhibitions in Brazil and abroad such as the I Bienal de Jewellery Contemporânea de Lisboa in 2021.
