Kaia Ansip
Kaia Ansip (1984) é uma joalheira estónia radicada em Portugal.
Estudou joalharia - Licenciatura e Mestrado na Academia de Artes da Estónia - e terminou o curso em 2022. Fez estágios no Ar.co e com Catarina Silva. Expôs os seus trabalhos em Portugal e na Estónia. Em 2017 integrou o Projeto de Joalharia Doméstica em que ganhou o Prémio Jovem Joalheiro Estónio. A sua primeira formação foi na área de filosofia, em 2009.
O meu tempo no ateliê é minha comunhão com o mundo, com os vivos, com os mortos. É a minha hora de pensar e inventar filosofias caseiras, muitas vezes críticas humanas.
O próprio material é o guia, levando a possibilidades ocultas. Uso ferramentas de ourives para descobrir coisas e a mim mesma, o resultado nem sempre são joias.
Kaia Ansip (1984) is an estonian jewellery artist based in Portugal.
She studied jewellery on BA and MA level at the Estonian Academy of Arts and graduated in 2022. She has finished internships at Ar.co and with Catarina Silva. She has exhibited her works in Portugal and Estonia. In 2017 she was part of the Domestic Jewellery Project which won the special price of the Young Estonian Jeweller Prize. Her first education was in philosophy, which she never finished.
My studio time is my communion with the world, with the living, with the dead. It is my time to think and cook up homemade philosophies, often human critical.
Material itself is the guide, leading to hidden possibilities. I use silversmiths tools to uncover things and myself, the outcome is not always jewellery.
